“The power of love to change bodies is legendary, built into folklore, common sense, and everyday experience. Love moves the flesh, it pushes matter around… Throughout history, tender loving care has uniformly been recognized as a valuable element in healing.”
—Dr. Larry Dossey, MD
Dr. Dossey’s quote sums up my philosophy rather nicely. I believe that while laughter can most definitely heal, love is the best medicine. To heal trauma, to reconnect with our deepest, most authentic self, to achieve true intimacy with another human being: for all of these, we must love and be loved.
I believe that the experience of being fully loved and accepted by another person enables us to love ourselves. Being held emotionally and physically gives us a safe space to begin finding ourselves. It allows us to start rewriting the stories of shame and unlovability that we have adopted as our truths. We start to see and accept our inherent worthiness, which is the first step towards self-love.
Radical self-acceptance, the belief that we are good enough right now, as we are, is the key to loving ourselves, and loving ourselves is the key to healing our relationships with ourselves and our sexuality.
Are you ready to experience the one love that can truly change you and your world?
I am unapologetically and radically queer, trans-inclusive, consent-based, sex-positive, feminist, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, kink-knowledgeable, poly-normative, and non-appropriative in my values. I recognize these values as ideals to continuously strive toward and my desire is to create a safer space based upon these ideals. I also recognize that I may fall short of these ideals, and will always welcome feedback on how I can do better.1
